Red Crystal / High Quality Tsukiyakko / KIWAMI
A moment of frost, captured in form.
A striking contrast of white and red, crisp as winter air.
A refined wagasa embodying stillness, tension, and quiet strength.
Kiwami Tsukiyakko – Souka (Frost Blossom)
On a frosted morning, the air itself seems to resonate.
A fleeting moment where silence sharpens, and every detail stands in clarity.
Souka captures this serene and crystalline beauty in the form of a wagasa.
It features Tsujikura’s traditional Tsukiyakko crescent design.
The moon-like arc creates a sense of quiet tension within stillness, forming a composition both restrained and powerful.
Materials & Craftsmanship
This piece is crafted using white and black Unryu washi handmade in Kurotani, Kyoto.
The natural flow of fibers becomes part of the landscape, evoking the crisp air of a frost-covered morning.
A layer of rakusui paper with chrysanthemum arabesque patterns is combined with hand-made red washi.
The contrast with white creates an expression reminiscent of frost-touched blossoms—delicate, yet striking.
Presence
When opened,
a quiet yet unmistakable presence emerges.
Each time it is carried in the rain,
it recalls the clarity and stillness of winter air.
