Kiwami Tsukiyakko – Fujinami
A gentle afterglow of wisteria hues.
Soft layers of washi flow in a graceful crescent form.
A wagasa that embodies quiet elegance and refined harmony.
Kiwami Tsukiyakko – Fujinami
A soft, lingering impression of wisteria tones.
This rain umbrella is crafted in the traditional Tsukiyakko crescent design, where sheets of washi are joined in a flowing arc reminiscent of the moon.
Materials & Craftsmanship
The base features chirigami washi (snow-flecked “Fubuki”) handmade in Kurotani, Kyoto.
Layered over it are rakusui paper with a traditional shippo (seven treasures) pattern, and hand-made violet washi.
Rakusui paper is created by dropping water onto freshly formed sheets, leaving delicate traces that form unique patterns.
The shippo motif—interlocking circles that expand outward—has long been cherished in Japan as an auspicious design symbolizing harmony and meaningful connections.
The soft off-white base is gently layered with wisteria-like purple tones,
creating a quiet sense of flow enhanced by the graceful crescent curve.
Presence
As light touches the surface,
the layers of washi and delicate patterns softly emerge.
Its beauty does not stand apart,
but rather blends gently into the atmosphere of a rainy day.
A refined expression unique to Tsujikura.
