“Bamboo and Japanese Umbrellas”
In Japan, bamboo has long been a familiar plant. This is evident from the numerous bamboo crafts that exist.
Japanese umbrellas, made from bamboo and washi paper, are one such example.
Lightweight, durable, and supple—the characteristics of bamboo, including the shape of its nodes, are beautifully utilized in the creation of each umbrella.
At Tsujikura, we continue to use domestically grown bamboo and traditional techniques to craft our umbrellas.
Japanese traditional umbrellas embody the natural environment that has been preserved since ancient times and the culture nurtured within it.
